J&K Police Cautions Public Over Fake WhatsApp Profile Using DGP R.R Swain’s Display Picture
Srinagar, Nov 24 (KS): Jammu and Kashmir Police have cautioned people over a fake WhatsApp profile using a picture of incumbent Director General of Police Rashmi Ranjan Swain as Display Picture (DP).
“A delinquent/fraudster has created a fake whatsapp profile using the number +998914128090 having photo of DGP J&K, Shri Rashmi Ranjan Swain, IPS as DP”, said a police spokesperson in a statement issued to Kashmir Scroll.
“Action as warranted under law has been initiated. It is informed that since it is a fake profile created with malicious intentions, no-one should reply/respond to this number”, reads the statement.
“Any transaction with this account resulting in a loss or otherwise be reported to the nearest Police Station or Cyber Police Station Srinagar at 9596770555 or Jammu at 0191-2436709. (KS)
