Raithan forest range nursery in Budgam sets green milestone in pine cultivation, says official

Budgam, Dec 23 (KNO): In a remarkable feat for environmental conservation, Budgam’s Raithan Forest Range Nursery has emerged as a pivotal force in pine tree cultivation.
In an interview with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) range officer at Raithan Tariq Ahmad claimed that the nursery has earned acclaim for its extraordinary ability to nurture a staggering 30,000 to 40,000 pine trees annually.
The cumulative impact of this effort is amazing, with the nursery recently surpassing the 30 lakh mark in total tree production, he said.
The Range Officer expressed unwavering pride in the nursery’s achievements, considering it an ecological linchpin.
He said that Raithan forest range nursery is gearing up for increased production, signaling a promising trajectory for environmental sustainability in the Budgam region.
In addition to Raithan, Kanidajan Nursery also plays crucial in bridging the gaps left by the deforestation that has occurred over the previous 30 years.
