74th Republic Day Celebration: Safeena Beigh Unfurls Tri-Color at B’la; Took Salute on March Past

Baramulla, January 26 (KNS): Chairperson, District Development Council Baramulla, Safeena Beigh said that Baramulla district has shown inclusive growth in all the fronts and the need of the hour is to make involvement of all stakeholders in the progress of the district by utilizing their potential.
Safeena Beigh made these remarks today on the eve of 74th Republic Day celebrations organised at District Police Lines Baramulla where she hoisted the tricolor, inspected the parade and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, Home guards, Fire and Emergency services, NCC and students from different schools.
DIG North Kashmir, Vivik Gupta,Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar, SSP Baramulla, Amod Ashok Nagpure,MCB President, Touseef Raina,DDC members,BDC Chairpersons, Officers of Judicial administration, Officers of Army and Police, District and sectoral officers, heads of different departments were present at the event besides a huge gathering of people and students also showed their enthusiastic participation.
Highlighting the importance of R- Day in the history of India, the Chairperson said that the Nation is today remembering the sacrifices of great freedom fighters because of whom we are living in a free atmosphere.
It is only because of the Constitutional setup and established democratic system, Baramulla is having a communal harmony where people of different beliefs and faiths co-exist, and the need of the hour is to promote brotherhood and peace among all the communities, Safeena Beigh observed.
While giving an overview of the achievements made by the district, the Chairperson said that the district has shown a remarkable achievements in all sectors under various priority areas including education, healthcare, agriculture and allied sectors, women and youth empowerment, MGNREGA, JJM, rural development, macadamization and road connectivity, Social Welfare, Nasha Mukt Bharat and self-employment.
Highlighting the progress achieved under different indicators of Aspirational District Programme, Safeena Beigh said that the district has once again achieved a milestone by securing 3rd Position in Agriculture and Water Resources Sector among 115 Aspirational Districts in the country. She said that initiatives are being taken to transform the District from Aspirational to Inspirational.
While highlighting the sector wise achievements made by the district, the Chairperson said that the district has shown a remarkable achievements with regard to road connectivity, and the new roads have been constructed for the ease of the general public. She further added that the construction of Four Lanning National Highway from Srinagar-Uri has remained a long need, and the administration is very serious about this project for its completion in a time bound manner.
Asserting that the district has achieved tremendous achievements in Health Sector, Safeena Beigh said that soon after the establishment of Government Medical College Baramulla, not only the people of Baramulla are being provided the best medicare facilities but also the whole North Kashmir take its advantage thereby making referral cases to Srinagar Hospitals minimum.
Moreover, she made a reference of several welfare schemes and programmes launched by the central government or UT administration and stressed to work with added zeal and synergy so that the benefits percolate at the ground level.
Safeena Beigh also said that youngsters of Jammu and Kashmir believe in peace and tolerance not in violence and underlined the need of providing appropriate platforms for our youth so that their empowerment in terms of sustainable opportunities is achieved.
During the function, a variety of cultural Programmes were presented which depicted cultural diversity and heritage of the region.
At the conclusion of the function, prize distribution ceremony was held during which various functionaries were felicitated for showing exemplary and extraordinary services in their respective fields.
Meanwhile, Likewise functions were also organized at Sub-division and Tehsil levels where the concerned authorities unfurled the tri-color.(KNS)
