Landslide closes NHW for Traffic
Srinagar, Feb 21 (KS) : The 270-km-long Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, which connects Kashmir valley with the rest of the country was closed due to landslides.
Jammu Srinagar NHW blocked due to landslide at CPPL Mess between Ramban and Banihal, an official told The Kashmir Scroll.
Highway is still blocked and clearance work is going on. People are advised not to travel on NH-44 till clearance work completed, he said.
The road clearance operation is underway and vehicular movement on the National Highway will resume within next few hours, he added.
However, the authorities have advised the commuters to undertake the journey on the National Highway only after confirming the status of the road from Traffic Control Units of Ramban, Srinagar and Jammu. (KS)
