Release wages of Anganwadi workers, helpers: Bilal Bhat
Ganderbal. December 19, 2023 : Social Reformer, Campaigner cum Public Speaker Bilal Bhat Tuesday said that Anganwadi workers and helpers working under the ICDS scheme in Jammu and Kashmir are without wages for the past several months.
In a statement, he said that these scheme workers have been working tirelessly as most of the government schemes are implemented through theanyThese workers reamins always on toes to attend all events, programmes and seminars of tge Government of Jammu and Kashmir. These workers reamins on toes during any other disaster like situation ,they have been at the forefront. These employees have to feed their families, but despite working hard, they are not paid their wages on time.
The central share of their wages for several months is yet to be released. The administrative apathy towards their genuine issues is against justice as they are being denied social security benefits including promotion, gratuity, pension, provident fund and medical facilities etc.
ICDS is the Country’s most comprehensive & multi-dimensional Programme. For million of young Indian children living in condition of poverty and different forms of deprivation, Integrated Child Development Services promises hope. The ICDS Scheme which was started on experimental basis in 33 blocks of the country during 1975-76 has now expanded into a Programme with possibly the greatest out reach in the country. It is the foremost symbol of India’s commitment to her children –India’s response to the challenge of providing pre-school education on one hand breaking the vicious cycle of malnutrition, morbidity, reduce learning capacity and mortality, on the other. It is today the world’s largest unique Integrated Programme for early childhood Development, Converging, Intervention for health, Nutrition well being, Physical, Psycho-Social and Cognitive development-linked to other sect oral Intervention for safe drinking water, Environmental Sanitation and Women Development.
