Srinagar, Jan 31 : The slow pace of work at Batmaloo area of Srinagar has caused several traffic woes in the area with locals urging the authorities to expedite the work.

The locals from the area told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the slow pace of work at the busiest Batmaloo in Srinagar is causing a traffic mess in the area.

A local resident Basit said the area is facing frequent traffic jams as the work is going on at a very slow pace, causing inconvenience to them.

“I have to travel on the same route daily and due to the traffic jam, I mostly reach late to my destination. I would like to request the authorities to kindly look into this matter,” said a commuter.

An official told KNO the construction work is being carried out by the R&B department in phases to avoid traffic blockade on the road. “The work is in progress as a 35-meter span box culvert is being constructed and will be completed within a stipulated time frame,” he added—(KNO)
