Ganderbal, Feb 10 (KNO): Mian Nazim, a determined law student hailing from the Woder Kachnambal in Ganderbal has defied convention by venturing into the world of agriculture with remarkable success.
His journey from law books to orchard management has not only transformed his own life but has also become a beacon of hope for his community.
Breaking the mold, Nazim transitioned from traditional orchards to embrace the government’s Horticulture Development Program (HDP) in 2021, leveraging the scheme’s 50% subsidy to catapult his orchard into a flourishing enterprise.
He shared with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) his strategic planning and unwavering determination that led to the expansion of his orchard to an impressive 11-kanal HDP orchard.
In just the first year of operation, Nazim’s orchard yielded substantial returns, generating 4 lakh rupees from 6 kanals alone. However, his success transcends monetary gains, as Nazim emphasized his commitment to empowering his community by providing employment opportunities. By hiring and compensating two individuals, he not only elevated their standard of living but also contributed to combating unemployment in the region.
Nazim attributes much of his inspiration to Mian Naqashband, whose mentorship instilled in him the confidence to thrive in the agricultural sector. Looking ahead, Nazim envisions further expansion of his orchard while exploring innovative and sustainable farming techniques. He firmly believes that entrepreneurship holds the key to addressing unemployment woes and encourages aspiring young entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams relentlessly.
The remarkable journey of Nazim serves as a testament to the transformative power of motivation, dedication, and a commitment to social impact. His story resonates as a shining example of how ordinary individuals can achieve extraordinary success while uplifting their communities along the way—(KNO)
