JK News Live

Srinagar, Feb 21 (KS): Experience tranquility in the aftermath of rains and snowfall until the 26th, as calm weather prevails. However, brace yourself for another wet spell starting from the 27th, as said by the Meteorological Department on Wednesday.

An official from MeT told news agency Kashmir Scroll that widespread light to moderate rain/snow at many places with heavy rain/snow at few places occurred in past 24 hours. He said today that the possibility of intermittent light rain/snow at isolated places can’t be ruled out. Adding to this, he mentioned that there would be no significant weather activity until the 26th of February.

Additionally, he stated that from Feb 27 to 29, there’s a forecast of light to moderate rain/snow at scattered to fairly widespread places.

In view of heavy to very heavy snowfall over few middle & higher reaches during last 2 days, he advised travellers/tourists to follow admin/traffic police advisory. He also advised general public over hilly areas not to venture in avalanche prone areas & slopy areas. (Follow avalanche warnings and advisories).

There are chances of landslides/mudslides and shooting stones at few places, he said. (KS)
