Uri, Mar 3 (GNS): At least three workers are reported to have been washed away in Jhelum river during a demolition work on an old bridge at Uri in Baramulla district.
Locals told GNS that several workers were engaged in demolition work on an old bridge in Mohura Uri and during the time the trio is believed to have fallen into the Jhelum river.
“The apprehension of them having fallen into the river (Jhelum) have grown as some people are claiming to have seen them falling into the river flowing in proximity to the site of the ‘accident’,” a local said.
When contacted, a police official told GNS they are assessing the situation. “Nothing can be said with much certainty at the moment,” the police official said. (GNS)
