Pulwama, Mar 3, KNT: Shugufta Akhter, a 25-year-old resident of Sangerwani Pulwama, is making waves as a symbol of women’s empowerment in her community, thanks to her innovative initiatives in beekeeping.

Following her completion of higher secondary education, Shagufta embarked on a mission to rejuvenate the organic honey industry in her locality.

Driven by determination and bolstered by the assistance of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) through the Umeed scheme, she not only injected new vitality into the honey-making trade but also motivated and mentored fellow women, guiding them towards success.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunities presented by the government and NRLM since her 2021 enrollment, Shugufta highlighted the transformative impact of their support on her journey.

Shugufta Akhter’s enterprise has not only provided crucial support for her family but has also positioned her as a guiding figure within the beekeeping fraternity.

Stressing the convenience of fulfilling customer orders via phone requests, she emphasizes the importance of delivering pure, unadulterated honey to meet the burgeoning demand.

Expanding her horizons beyond local boundaries, Shugufta now dispatches her honey to various states across India, further extending her influence within the honey industry.
