Ganderbal, Apr 17 (KNO): Former MLA of Ganderbal and President Jammu Kashmir United Movement (JKUM), Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, has confirmed that his party will field a candidate for the Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), he made the announcement at a public rally in Qamriya Stadium at Ganderbal, on the 34th death anniversary of Sheikh Abdul Jabbar.
However, Jabbar clarified that the final candidate would be nominated following discussions among party members.
Highlighting the party’s agenda, his party’s focus would be on regional development and addressing the day-to-day issues faced by the people.
Additionally, he stressed efforts towards amnesty for imprisoned youth and political leaders across the country.
Jabbar criticized regional parties, particularly the National Conference, for exploiting the people of Jammu and Kashmir for decades.
Alleging neglect by the Sheikh Dynasty, he stated that despite being elected from Ganderbal, the district faced hardships under their rule.
Furthermore, Jabbar announced that for other Parliamentary constituencies, his party would extend support to like-minded candidates—(KNO)
