‘Faulty Service-line’ Leaves 2 Livestock Animals Dead in Muqam-i-Shahwali Kupwara; Locals Aghast, Allege PDD of Negligent Approach
Kupwara, May 12 (GNS): At least two livestock animals were left dead due to a high volt electric current from an allegedly faulty service-line in Muqam-i-Shahwali village in Kupwara on Sunday afternoon.
Reports reaching GNS said that two livestock animals, including a valued milk yielding cow and a bull, were electrocuted to death at Davood Colony Muqam-i-Shahwali, causing substantial loss to the owners’.
The unfortunate incident has sparked a wave of resentment among the locals, as they claim to have informed the authorities about the ‘faulty service-line’ on multiple occasions.
Alleging the Department concerned of negligent approach towards their genuine grievance, the locals while talking to GNS said that, “Call it fortunate or unfortunate, but the fact is that this negligence on behalf of PDD could have potentially consumed any human life even.”
“The PDD has been too lackadaisical in its approach for it hasn’t shown any interest to repair the faulty service-line despite representation moved before it on multiple occasions,” said a local.
“We through this medium are once again urging the PDD to carry out an assessment of the service-line and make necessary repairs as to avoid any untoward incident in future,” the locals said. (GNS)
