Bandipora, Jan 05 : Gurez Valley in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district has been blanketed by a fresh spell of snowfall, bringing both beauty and challenges to the region.
Heavy snow has been falling continuously since morning, transforming the valley into a picturesque winter wonderland. However, the heavy snowfall has also disrupted daily life.
The 85-kilometer-long Gurez-Bandipora road, the primary route connecting the valley to the rest of the district, has been closed to traffic.
The road closure is a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of travelers, as slippery surfaces and poor visibility pose significant risks.
Local authorities are closely monitoring the situation and are prepared to initiate snow clearance operations once weather conditions improve.
Similarly, residents and travelers have been advised to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary movement until the weather stabilizes.
