Lucknow, Jan 10: A married woman from Jammu and Kashmir allegedly stole gold and cash from her husband before leaving him to run away with her lover from Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, whom she met on Facebook.
The husband, who lodged a police complaint, accusing the wife of stealing valuables worth over Rs 5 lakh, said that her lover had misled his wife through social media and took her away under false promises.
An initial probe into the matter revealed that Abiral, from J&K’s Srinagar, married Vinod Kumar from Mohali, Punjab, in 2017. Later, she came into a relationship with Faizan Ahmed from Rae Bareli.
She left her husband in December 2024 to run away with her lover and marry him, according to the complaint. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
When the husband came to know about their marriage, he visited the Rae Bareli police station on Tuesday and filed a complaint, accusing Ahmed of misleading his wife into leaving and stealing valuables worth lakhs.
The police officials said that the woman wished to stay with her lover. The case is currently under investigation, they added.–(India Today)
