Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures : DLSA Bandipora Observes “World Health Day”

Bandipora April 07: As per Action Plan for the year 2025 and Calendar of Activities for the month of April, 2025, District Legal Services Authority, Bandipora under the Chairmanship of Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman District Legal Services Authority (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Bandipora and Guidance of Iqbal Ahmad Akhoon Chief Judicial Magistrate/Secretary DLSA Bandipora, today Observed Legal Awareness Programme on World Health Day under the theme “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures”.
The programme held at Govt NM Boys Higher Secondary School, Bandipora was inaugurated by Khalil Ahmad Choudhary Principal District and Sessions Judge (Chairman DLSA) Bandipora accompanied by Dr. Masrat Iqbal, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Bandipora, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Dr Nisar Ahmad, District Health Officer Dr.Tahira Nazir and other Medical Officers.

The programme was aimed to create awareness among the Participants about people’s general health and wellbeing around the world.
The introductory address was delivered by Dr.Masrat Iqbal, Medical Superintendent DH Bandipora.
He emphasized the need for awareness programmes in the general masses regarding the Health Day all over the world besides apprised the gathering about engaging in daily good habits.
He also highlighted that the day is seen as an opportunity to drive worldwide attention to a subject of major importance for global health each year and sensitized young minds of the importance of their physical and mental health.

Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Bandipora delivered speech on the world Health Day. He highlighted that this year, the World Health Organization (WHO) has chosen the theme “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures,” a powerful reminder that the health of our mothers and newborns is the foundation upon which our communities and our world are built.
He said we must ensure that every child has a healthy start in life, and every mother receives the care and support she needs.

Khalil Ahmad Choudhary said that we have made significant strides in maternal and newborn health, but there is still much work to be done. We must continue to invest in our healthcare infrastructure, train our healthcare professionals, and empower our communities to make informed choices about their health.
Let us pledge today to make health a priority for all, especially for our most vulnerable populations. Let us work together to ensure that every child is born healthy and every mother receives the care she deserves, He added.

The Chairman also gave awareness about Legal Aid Services.

Aamir Shafi (Penal Lawyer) District Legal Services Authority Bandipora delivered speech on the world Health Day. He emphasized maternal and newborn health, urging participants to prioritize women’s long-term well-being and end preventable deaths and Legal Aspects.
The programme was attended by Medical Officers, Officials, Staff Members, Para Medical Staff, Staff members of DLSA Bandipora, Students, Para Legal Volunteers (Adhikar Mitras) and other officials.
