MLA Lolab Qaiser Jamshed Lone Visits GMC Handwara to Inquire About Accident Victims

Handwara : MLA Lolab, Qaiser Jamshed Lone, visited Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara today to assess the condition of those injured in a tragic road accident that occurred yesterday. He was accompanied by District President of the Women’s Wing JKNC, Dr. Rabia Wani.

During his visit, MLA Lone stated that the Chief Minister has announced ex-gratia compensation of Rs 1 lakh for the families of the deceased, Rs 50,000 for those critically injured, and Rs 25,000 for those with minor injuries.

The accident claimed the lives of two students from Government Degree College (GDC) Sogam and left nearly 29 others injured.

Medical Superintendent of GMC Handwara, Dr. Aijaz, reported that all patients except one have been discharged after receiving appropriate medical treatment.

Several dignitaries, including MLA Handwara Sajad Gani Lone, Minister of Health Sakina Itoo, Minister of Agriculture Javid Dar, JKNC senior leader Choudhary Mohammad Ramzan, and JKPC senior leader Bashir Ahmad Dar, had also visited GMC Handwara yesterday to express their condolences and support to the victims and their families.
