Ganderbal May 23, 2025: A heartfelt and emotional farewell was accorded to SHO Safapora Gulzar Hussain today, as a grand farewell rally was carried out from Police Station Safapora to Main Market Safapora, drawing large participation from the local community.
The event was organized by DDC Safapora, Ab Rashid, who led the procession and paid glowing tributes to the outgoing SHO. In his address, DDC Ab Rashid described SHO Gulzar Hussain as “a great person, a noble soul, and a dedicated officer who served the people of Safapora with honesty, humility, and compassion.” He also highlighted SHO Hussain’s role in building strong police-public relations and maintaining peace in the area.
The rally witnessed an emotional outpouring from locals, civil society members, traders, and youth, many of whom gathered along the route to bid farewell with folded hands, flower petals, and warm gestures of respect.
At Main Market Safapora, the community assembled to honor the SHO, with several speakers expressing deep appreciation for his selfless service, firm but fair policing, and his approachable personality. The farewell was marked by emotional scenes, shared memories, and words of gratitude.
