Kundian, July 12 :The Indian Army’s under the aegis of the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion Keran, commenced a three-day celebration of Kargil Vijay Diwas at Govt. High School Kundian, beginning on July 12, 2025. The event was inaugurated by the Coy Commander of the Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Kundian, setting the tone for a deeply patriotic and inspiring tribute to the heroes of the Kargil War.
Kargil Vijay Diwas, observed annually on July 26, commemorates the Indian Armed Forces’ historic victory over Pakistani intruders in the Kargil sector in 1999. This local celebration aims to instill in the youth a deep sense of national pride, respect for the sacrifices of our soldiers, and awareness of India’s military history.
The first day of the celebration featured a special screening of the acclaimed war film Shershaah, which chronicles the life and bravery of Captain Vikram Batra, Param Vir Chakra (Posthumous).
The movie left a profound impact on the students, evoking a strong emotional response and reinforcing the values of courage, selflessness, and patriotism. The story of Captain Batra — his unflinching resolve and ultimate sacrifice — served as a powerful source of inspiration for the young minds present.
The venue echoed with patriotic slogans, and students engaged in discussions about the Kargil War, its significance, and the indomitable spirit of the Indian Army. The Rashtriya Rifles personnel interacted with the students, sharing real-life stories from the battlefield and motivating them to contribute positively to the nation.
The celebrations will continue till July 14, 2025, featuring cultural performances, debates, and an exhibition showcasing military equipment and stories of gallantry.
Through this initiative, the Indian Army continues its noble mission of nation-building, fostering civil-military harmony, and nurturing the next generation with values of bravery and dedication.
