24-year-old Youth Drowns in Papchan Nallah, Body Retrieved After Joint Rescue Effort

Srinagar, Aug 15, KNT: A 24-year-old youth drowned while bathing in Papchan Nallah in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday afternoon.

According to reports, the youth was taking a bath when he suddenly went missing in the water. Locals, along with rescue teams, immediately launched a joint operation. After hectic efforts, his body was retrieved from the Nallah and rushed to District Hospital Bandipora, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The deceased has been identified as Tufail Ahmad Shah, son of Bashir Ahmad Shah, a resident of Papchan (B), Bandipora.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation. [KNT]
