SKUAST-K Organised a Capacity Building Workshopon Agriculture CarbonMarkets

The Faculty of Forestry, SKUAST-Kashmir, in collaboration with the Institute for Environment and Development (IIED), London and Voluntary Carbon market initiative (VCMi) organised a Capacity Building Workshop on “Agriculture Carbon Markets under CCTS Standards.” The event was inaugurated by Prof. A.H. Mughal, Dean, Faculty of Forestry, in the presence of Dr. Mohan Reddy, Senior Project Coordinator, Climate Change Group of IIED London. In his inaugural address, Prof. A.H. Mughal underscored the pivotal role of Agriculture Carbon Markets in advancing both climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts.
He emphasized that integrating carbon market mechanisms into agricultural practices cannot only reduce green house gas emissions but also enhance the resilience of farming systems, thereby contributing to sustainable livelihoods and environmental stewardship.
