MAJOR DRUG PEDDLER APPREHENDED BY GANDERBAL POLICE; CONTRABAND SUBSTANCE RECOVERED AND SEIZED.

In a sustained drive against the menace of drugs, Ganderbal Police achieved a major success by apprehending a notorious Drug Peddler and recovered a significant quantity of Contraband Substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Ganderbal, while conducting naka checking near Wayil Bridge, intercepted one individual who was later identified as; Gulzar Ashraf Khan, son of Mohammad Ashraf Khan, resident of Buderkund Ganderbal.
During his personal search, the police recovered a substantial quantity of Contraband Substance, Bhung Patri (Cannabis derivative) from his possession. The contraband Substance was seized on the spot as per legal formalities and the accused was arrested.
Accordingly, Case FIR No.196/2025, under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Ganderbal, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the contraband and identify other individuals involved in the supply chain.
Ganderbal Police reiterates its commitment to eradicating drug peddling from the district and urges the public to cooperate and share information related to drug abuse or trafficking in their areas.
