GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 03: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, today chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the Prime Minister Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) scheme in the district.

During the meeting, DC assessed the overall progress made by various departments and emphasized the need to intensify efforts to bring all uncovered eligible individuals under the ambit of the scheme.

He directed all line departments to mobilize unorganised workers aged 18 to 40 years and earning less than Rs.15,000 per month for enrolment through Common Service Centres (CSCs) or self-registration on the Maandhan Portal. He stressed that the benefits of this pension scheme must reach all vulnerable workers.

All engineering departments, ICDS, Health, Agriculture, Education, Horticulture, Municipal Council Ganderbal, and other concerned departments were instructed to ensure the registration of all eligible NREGA workers, construction workers, Anganwadi workers, Mid-Day Meal workers, Helpers, and ASHA workers of the district.

DC also directed Common Service Centres to organise special camps and deploy dedicated teams to facilitate on-spot registration of eligible beneficiaries.

To streamline implementation, department-wise targets were fixed, and officers were directed to submit daily appraisals to the Deputy Commissioner office regarding the number of workers registered under the scheme.

Among others, the meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Programme Officer ICDS, Assistant Commissioner Development, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Ganderbal, Executive Engineers of PW (R&B) Ganderbal and Kangan, Lead District Manager, and other concerned officers.
