Kashmir’s Silent Martyrs Find a Voice: 78 Terror Victims’ Families Given Government Jobs Under ‘Caravan of Justice’

Sheikh Junaid

In a landmark step towards long-overdue recognition and rehabilitation, 78 next of kin of terror victims in Jammu and Kashmir were provided government employment at a special event held today at Lok Bhavan, Srinagar, under the ‘Caravan of Justice’ initiative.

The programme, supported by the Save Youth Save Future (JKSYSF) Foundation, focuses on the real martyrs of Kashmir—the families who have borne the brunt of terrorism through loss, trauma, and decades of neglect.

Under the leadership of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, the initiative aims to restore dignity, provide meaningful support, and finally acknowledge the sacrifices of these families in a structured and institutional manner. With today’s appointments, the total number of families that have received rehabilitation and recognition through this process has risen to nearly 300, while several more cases remain under active consideration.

Launched on 13 July 2025, this phase of the Caravan of Justice marks a significant milestone in a continuing journey of redress and accountability for terror victims’ families. The initiative goes beyond providing employment, seeking instead to heal deep and enduring wounds, reaffirm faith in public institutions, and send a clear message that the State recognises its moral obligation toward those who have suffered the most.

Representatives from the Save Youth Save Future Foundation described the moment as both a personal honour and a collective responsibility, affirming their commitment to stand with the victims of terrorism, amplify their voices, and ensure that the memory of Kashmir’s martyrs is honoured through tangible and meaningful action.

They noted that terrorism may have taken lives and shattered families, but it cannot erase the demand for justice, dignity, and institutional support.Expressing sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, the Foundation commended his steadfast commitment to ensuring that justice delayed does not become justice denied.

The day’s developments were hailed as a powerful reminder that with political will and collective resolve, hope, trust, and dignity can be restored to families who have paid the highest price in the fight against terrorism.
