JKBOSE discards old syllabus for re-appear candidates
JK News Live

Srinagar, Jan 1, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has formally discarded the old syllabus that was in vogue for failure and re-appear students, bringing an end to further examination chances under the previous scheme of studies.

According to officials, failure and re-appear candidates of Classes 10, 11 and 12 under the old syllabus had already been provided multiple opportunities to clear their examinations. However, in line with existing Board regulations, the syllabus has now outlived its validity and no further chances will be given to students to appear under the old course structure.

In a notification issued by the Board, the concerned candidates have been advised to prepare strictly as per the new syllabus for the annual private and bi-annual examinations scheduled later this year, after the conclusion of the summer zone examinations and declaration of annual results.

The Board said the notification has been issued well in advance to ensure that students enrolled under the old scheme switch over to the revised syllabus in a timely manner for appearing in annual private and bi-annual examinations in 2026 and thereafter.

Officials further noted that the number of students who have still not cleared their examinations under the old scheme of studies is now insignificant, and continuation of the outdated syllabus is neither academically nor administratively viable.

The Board reiterated that all future examinations for such candidates will be conducted strictly under the new syllabus framework. [KNT]
