GANDERBAL: 6TH, JANUARY 2026: In view of the forthcoming Republic Day–2026, SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS today conducted a comprehensive review meeting to assess and strengthen Security Arrangements across the district for upcoming Republic Day-2026. The meeting was held at the Conference Hall, District Police Office (DPO), Ganderbal
SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS,* undertook a detailed review of the overall security scenario and preparedness to ensure peaceful, secure, and incident-free Republic Day Celebrations.
On the said occasion, 13RR Army Colonel Shri Bishal Thapa, CO. 4th Bn. SSB Shri Arvind Kumar, CO. SSB 63Bn. Shri Ram Kumar Prasad, AC. CRPF 49th Bn. Shri Mohan Singh CAPF’s, other senior officers of CAPF’s, Addl.SP Ganderbal, GO’s of District Police, and SHOs of concerned police stations participated in the meeting.
During the deliberations, threadbare discussions were held on deployment plans, area domination, intelligence sharing, coordination among security agencies, protection of vulnerable points, and implementation of effective access control and traffic management measures. Emphasis was laid on enhanced vigil, proactive policing, and intensified patrolling to thwart any attempt to disrupt public peace and order.
*SSP Ganderbal Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal-JKPS* stressed the importance of inter-agency coordination, real-time information sharing, and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). He directed all officers to remain alert, responsive, and mission-oriented, while ensuring public convenience and confidence during the celebrations.
The meeting concluded with a firm resolve to work in close coordination to ensure that *Republic Day–2026* is celebrated in a peaceful, secure, and dignified manner throughout District Ganderbal.
