RAMBAN, JANUARY 20: Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Alyas Khan today reviewed the progress of the prestigious National Highway-44 four-laning project and assessed the security arrangements at the construction sites along the Nashri–Banihal stretch, here at a high-level meeting with the officers and representatives of executing agencies.
The meeting was attended by SSP Ramban, Arun Gupta, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Varunjeet Singh Charak, Project Director NHAI, Shubham Yadav besides officers from the Police, civil administration and executing agencies associated with the project.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner conducted a stretch-wise review of the ongoing works from Nashri to Ramban and Ramban to Banihal. He emphasized the importance of timely completion of the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway, terming it a project of vital national importance.
Addressing local issues hindering the progress of the project, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to resolve all genuine public grievances and site-specific bottlenecks in a time-bound manner so that the pace of construction is not hampered.
The Deputy Commissioner along with the SSP also reviewed the overall security scenario along the Nashri to Banihal stretch. They stressed the need for close coordination among the district administration, police and executing agencies to ensure a safe and secure working environment for manpower, machinery and commuters.
The officers were directed to remain vigilant and proactive in addressing security and traffic-related issues, especially in vulnerable and high-traffic zones to ensure uninterrupted progress of the project and public convenience.
