DC Ganderbal and Director ULB Kashmir distribute sanction letters among street vendors of District Ganderbal
GANDERBAL, JANUARY 23: District Administration Ganderbal today joined the nation-wide live streaming of the launch of PM SVANidhi Credit Card by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, as part of efforts to strengthen urban livelihood.
Addressing the nation-wide participants from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, Hon’ble Prime Minister said the launch of PM SVANidhi Credit Card marks the next phase of financial inclusion for street vendors.
He said the UPI-linked, interest-free revolving credit facility will provide instant liquidity, promote digital transactions, and help beneficiaries build formal credit histories.
The Prime Minister also disbursed PM SVANidhi loans to 1 lakh beneficiaries across the country.
In this connection, a programme was organised at the Mini Secretariat, Ganderbal, where Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore in presence of Director Urban Local Bodies, Qazi Sarwar handed-over sanction letters among beneficiary vendors of the district.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said the PM SVANidhi Credit Card will significantly empower street vendors by providing them with easy access to institutional credit, enabling them to expand their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
He emphasized that the initiative reflects the Government’s commitment towards financial inclusion and economic self-reliance of urban poor. He also urged beneficiary vendors to utilise the credit facility judiciously to suitably expand their businesses.
