Stresses on Digitization, timely Service Delivery in Revenue Sector across District

BUDGAM, MARCH 30: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Athar Aamir Khan, today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the functioning of Revenue services across all tehsils of the district at the DC Office Complex, Budgam.

The meeting was attended by ADC, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah, Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), AC Defence, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, and other concerned Revenue officials.

At the outset, the chair was apprised on the overall status of Revenue services in the district, highlighting key performance indicators and challenges.

During the meeting, the DC emphasized the need for 100% digitization of Jamabandis to enhance transparency, accessibility, and efficiency in land records management. He directed all Revenue officers to prioritize the clearance of pending cases under various categories and ensure prompt and hassle-free delivery of public services at all Revenue offices.

Reviewing the implementation of the Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA), the DC instructed officers to critically assess rejected and reverted cases within their jurisdictions and ensure their time-bound disposal, minimizing inconvenience to the public.

The DC also took stock of progress on key administrative infrastructure projects, including the Tehsil Office at BK Pora and Niabats at Nagam, Soibugh, and Kachwari. He directed officers to maintain close coordination with executing agencies to ensure timely completion of these projects for early public use.

The DC stressed that Revenue officials must remain proactive in addressing public grievances and adhere strictly to timelines for service delivery.

A detailed review was conducted on multiple aspects including land acquisition cases, fencing of State land, disposal of Revenue Court cases, functioning of the Revenue Management Portal, inheritance mutations, maintenance of stock registers, and issuance of certificates such as income and category certificates.

The DC directed all officers to uphold accountability, ensure efficiency in service delivery, and remain committed to public welfare. He emphasized the need for strong interdepartmental coordination for the identification and demarcation of land for pending Panchayat Ghars, ensuring timely development of essential rural infrastructure across the district.
