Stresses timely progress, streamlined DPR preparations
SRINAGAR APRIL 07: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo today chaired a comprehensive meeting here at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office to assess the progress of mega developmental projects and ongoing infrastructure works in the district, besides reviewing the status of estimation and Detailed Project Report (DPR) preparation for upcoming works.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Chief Engineer SSCl, Abdul Qayoom Kirmani, Superintending Engineer R&B, Tatheer Manzoor, Superintending Engineer Hydraulic, Sajad Kawoosa, SDM East, Zubair Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, KPDCL, City Drainage, UEED & SMC Tehsildars South, Tehsildar Shalteng and other Officers.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner was apprised through a detailed presentation on the project-wise status and progress of major infrastructure development projects across the district.
The DC was briefed about key development projects, including 4L Flyover from Dalgate to Parimpora Junction, Parimpora-Shalteng Flyover, Vehicle Under Pass (VUP) at Moominabad, Panthachowk flyover, FOB at Children’s Hospital Bemina, Vehicle Under Pass (VUP) at Nowgam Railway Crossing and 4L of Boulevard Road from Nehru Park to Kralsangri.
On the occasion, the DC undertook a comprehensive assessment of the progress of ongoing works and identified key bottlenecks affecting the pace of execution.
The DC also took stock of the status of utility shifting to ensure the seamless and time-bound execution of the projects across Srinagar district. He directed executing agencies to expedite the estimation process so that all new works are processed promptly through the requisite stages of approval, tendering and allocation.
He underlined the importance of timely utility shifting and instructed all concerned departments to fast-track the process to facilitate smooth and uninterrupted execution of the projects.
The DC further stressed the need for streamlined preparation of estimates and DPRs of new initiatives underscoring that timely submission and approval of DPRs is essential for expediting project implementation.
Emphasising the importance of inter-departmental coordination, the DC called for enhanced synergy among all line departments to effectively address bottlenecks and ensure adherence to project timelines. He directed officers to adopt a proactive and coordinated approach in resolving issues related to land acquisition, clearances and utility relocation.
