JK News Live

GANDERBAL,: 7TH, APRIL 2026: In a continued effort to combat the menace of drug abuse and to promote a healthy and drug-free society, Ganderbal Police organized a series of comprehensive Drug Awareness Programmes across the district under the theme “Nasha-Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.”

The programmes were successfully conducted at Govt. Unani Medical College Nawabagh, Boys Higher Secondary School Kangan, Batwina, Wakura and Lar witnessing enthusiastic participation from senior police officers, faculty members, and a large number of students.

During the sessions, police officers sensitized the participants about the harmful effects of drug abuse, its impact on individuals, families, and society at large. The speakers emphasized the importance of early awareness, informed decision-making, and collective responsibility in curbing the spread of narcotics.

Students were encouraged to stay away from drugs and act as ambassadors of change by spreading awareness among their peers and communities. Interactive sessions were also held, where students actively engaged with officers, sharing their views and seeking guidance on resisting peer pressure and making healthy life choices.

Ganderbal Police reiterated its firm commitment towards a “Drug-Free Society” and assured that such awareness programmes will continue to be conducted across the district. The public has been urged to cooperate with the police and share any information related to drug trafficking or abuse to help eradicate this social evil.
