An official order issued by the University’s Administration Teaching Section states that Sajad Mohammed Khan has been placed under suspension with immediate effect in view of his detention in custody. The action, as per the order, has been taken under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, following his arrest in FIR No. 11 of 2026 lodged at the Women’s Police Station Rambagh, Srinagar.

According to the complaint, the accused allegedly approached the woman in 2018 and developed a romantic relationship with her. The complainant has alleged that he established physical relations with her on multiple occasions on the pretext of marriage, which she claims resulted in repeated pregnancies that were later terminated at his insistence.
The woman has further accused the scientist of financially exploiting her during the course of their relationship. According to the complainant, the accused used the money to construct his house and maintain a lavish lifestyle.
The relationship, as per the complaint, deteriorated when the woman began pressing for marriage. She has alleged that she was subsequently threatened with dire consequences, including threats to her life and that of her family, as well as the release of her private photographs on social media.
