GDC Ganderbal Organizes Essay Writing and Poster Making Competitions to Promote Truth and Non-Violence on Gandhi Jayanti

Ganderbal 27 Sept 2024: As part of the Gandhi Jayanti celebrations, the Debating Committee of the college organized an essay writing and poster making competition on 27th sep 2024 in the college conference hall

The event was held with the aim of promoting the idea of truth and non-violence among the students. Convenor, Debating and Seminar Committee ,Dr Wasia, shed light on the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi and the importance of truth and Non-violence in the contemporary times.

Principal of the College Prof. Fouzia Fatima also addressed the audience and highlighted the role of Mahatma Gandhi in the Indian freedom struggle.

The essay writing competition was held on the theme “Peace and Non-Violence: The success Mantra for a Progressive Democracy”. And the essays were judged by Prof. Tauseef Ahmad and Prof. Tooba Rashid. The poster making competition also attracted a large number of participants.

Students were given the theme of “Truth and Non-violence” and were required to create visually appealing posters that conveyed their message effectively. The judges for the poster making session were Prof. Mujeeb Kawoosa and Prof. Sameera Siraj.

The programme ended with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Prof. Nusrat Nabi from the department of Urdu.
