GANDERBAL POLICE TAKES ACTION AGAINST 14 INDIVIDUALS FOR MISUSE OF SOCIAL MEDIA

GANDERBAL, 20th, NOVEMBER 2025 Continuing its firm stance against the spread of misinformation, provocative content, and irresponsible online behaviour, Ganderbal Police has initiated action against 14 individuals involved in the misuse of various social media platforms.

The actions were taken after monitoring cell phones detected multiple instances of content those were misleading, defamatory, capable of disturbing public order, or in violation of established cyber norms. Upon verification, the individuals identified include Imtiyaz Ahmad Saad, Yaqoob Ahmad Dandroo, Arbaaz Irshad, Sajad Ahmad Lone, Danish Ahmad Ganie & many others have been made accountable for online activities.

Ganderbal Police have reiterated that social media is a powerful tool that must be used responsibly, and any attempt to spread fake news, incite communal sentiments, glorify anti-national elements, or cause public panic will invite strict legal consequences.

The District Police have urged citizens to verify information before sharing, report suspicious or harmful content, and adhere to the guidelines issued by authorities from time to time.

Ganderbal Police remains committed to ensuring a safe and secure digital environment and will continue to closely monitor online spaces to curb misuse of social media in the district.
