DC presides over the event, releases booklet on ‘Kisan Sampark Abhiyan- JKCIP’
GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 15: Agriculture department Ganderbal today organized a district-level sensitization workshop ‘Yuva Vani 2.0’, a large-scale Youth Club campaign under the JKCIP (Jammu & Kashmir Competitiveness Improvement of Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project).
The workshop was organized for identified Youth Clubs from designated blocks of the district to equip the youth with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle pressing environmental challenges. The training sessions focused on three critical areas viz. rejuvenation of water bodies, solid waste management and weather awareness.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore presided over the event, and released a booklet on ‘Kisan Sampark Abhiyan- JKCIP’.
Addressing the gathering, DC highlighted the pivotal role of youth in nation-building and environmental stewardship. He encouraged the club members to act as ambassadors of change in their respective blocks, taking the lessons learned from the workshop back to their communities.
He said this workshop holds immense significance to train Youth Club members to engage with the community for environmental conservation.
He urged them to formulate DPRs timely for the environmental conservation projects without compromising the quality. He also directed the concerned department to give full cooperation to nominated youth clubs for the said programme and ensure timely action in the field.
Earlier, Chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal highlighted the significance of youth engagement in shaping a progressive farming society and urged the participants to utilize the training to positively influence their communities, promote constructive activities and contribute to grassroots developmental initiatives especially with reference to environmental issues and climate change.
Resource persons from SKUAST-K, KVK, Agriculture department and allied departments and FTEC delivered technical sessions on youth mobilization, environmental issues, and climate change besides disaster management. The trainees were also briefed about opportunities available under different government schemes aimed at youth empowerment.
As part of the awareness campaign, Booklets related to JKCIP activities were also distributed among youth clubs, ensuring that the youth receive comprehensive information and remain well-informed.
Besides, a documentary on the Yuva Vani 2.0 was also screened on the occasion.
Chief Planning Officer, Chief Agricultural Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Nodal Officer HADP, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officers, concerned Agriculture Extension Officers, representatives from agriculture department participated in the training programme.
