Kulgam, March 25: The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Government Degree College Kulgam on Wednesday organised a one-day workshop on “From Grassroot Problems to Scalable Startups” in collaboration with the Rural Business Incubation Centre (RBIC), SKUAST-K.
On the occasion, the Principal of the college, Prof. (Dr.) Mohd Abass Shah, spoke at length on the theme, emphasising the growing importance of innovation and startup culture in empowering students and addressing real-world challenges.
The resource person, Taha Mughal, Assistant Professor at the Design Innovation Centre, IUST, delivered a comprehensive presentation and engaged participants in an interactive session, encouraging them to develop innovative ideas rooted in grassroots issues.
Dr. Kausar Jabeen, Technology Manager at RBIC, SKUAST-K, highlighted the vision and mission of the incubation centre and elaborated on the support available for aspiring entrepreneurs.
Earlier, Dr. Gowhar Hamid Dar, Coordinator IIC, GDC Kulgam, outlined the various initiatives undertaken by the council to promote innovation and entrepreneurship among students.
The workshop witnessed the participation of over 150 students, along with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Imran Gul, Technology Manager, RBIC, SKUAST-K.
