May 03: Deputy Inspector General of Police, North Kashmir Range Baramulla, Dr. Vinod Kumar -IPS, today visited Bandipora district to assess the prevailing security and crime scenario and also had operational review during meeting with officers of Bandipora Police at the Conference Hall, DPL Bandipora.
On his arrival , the DIG was presented with guard of honour. Thereafter , the DIG inaugurated Tradesmen Block at DPL marking a step towards strengthening police infrastructure and welfare .
These events were followed by meeting at the conference Hall .At the outset of the meeting , Senior Superintendent of Police Bandipora, Ajaz Ahmad Zargar-JKPS, warmly welcomed the DIG and briefed him on the overall functioning of the district police. He also introduced the officers present in the meeting, including DySP Headquarters Bandipora, SDPO Sumbal, SDPO Gurez, DySP SOG Hajin/Bandipora, DySP DAR, all SHOs, and other officers of Bandipora Police.
During the meeting, all Sub-Divisional Police Officers and DySP SOGs of District Bandipora presented detailed briefings on the overall crime scenario, security situation, and operational preparedness. They highlighted recent crime trends and the proactive measures being undertaken to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
While reviewing the situation, the DIG emphasized the importance of maintaining constant vigilance and called for timely and effective operational responses to prevent any potential disturbances. He stressed the need for enhanced coordination, intelligence-based operations, and sustained efforts to uphold peace and stability in the district.
The DIG, in his address, also laid special emphasis on the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir campaign, directing officers to further intensify efforts against drug trafficking and substance abuse through strict enforcement as well as sustained public awareness initiatives.He further underscored the importance of regular training and preparedness of police personnel, particularly those deployed in SOG camps, to effectively tackle emerging challenges.
Later, the DIG had a round of hotspot areas and also had interactive meeting with senior Army officer .“`
