Portable Water Scarcity in Nowgam

Syed Karar Hashmi / JK News Live

Portable Water Scarcity in Nowgam Sonawari. Seems people have been left at God’s mercy. Hashmi appealed to LG.Manoj Sinha.

The Socio-Political Activist Syed Karar Hashmi said that Kashmir is neither a desert nor lacks natural resources. The official inefficiency makes it look like one. It is very heart-rendring that the administration has failed to provide the basic facilities for the people of North Kashmir Nowgam Sonawari. Seems they have left people at God’s mercy.

He said in a press statement that despite tall claims of the authorities to have made all arrangements for people during this holy month of Ramzan, the department has miserably failed to provide drinking water in the nowgam sector of Bandipora.

He observed that the inhabitants of Nowgam Sonawari have suffered a lot in the absence of a potable water supply and, particularly, women folk have to travel long distances to fetch water for drinking and other purposes.

He said that today people were left with no option other than to register a protest and block the Zalpora Nowgam road and halt traffic for several hours so that their voice can be heard.

He lashed out at successive regimes for pushing our people to the wall and asked people that they should not give too much weight to those leaders and parties who are responsible for such a mess in the Sonawari Nowgam.

Meanwhile, Karar Hashmi appealed to Lt.Governor Shri Manoj Sinha Ji and Concerned Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr. Owais to intervene and redress their issue as soon as possible.
