Fraudster involved in fake gandola tickets arrested in Gulmarg:- Police

Srinagar, April 08 (KS) : Baramulla Police claimed to have arrested a fraudster involved in selling of fake Gondola Tickets in Gulmarg Baramulla.

Police in a statement to Kashmir Scroll said that police Station Gulmarg received a written complaint from Manager Gulmarg Gondola Project wherein he stated that today, a ticket checker caught 2 tourists with a fake gondola ticket.

“On enquiry, the tourists stated that some tourist guide has sold them these tickets at a cost of Rs. 2500/- per ticket. To this effect case FIR was registered under relevant sections of law in Police Station Gulmarg and investigation set in motion.” He said.

“During course of investigation the statement of the tourist was recorded and after strenuous efforts, a tourist guide namely Aashiq Hussain Magray S/O Ab Rashid Magray R/O Shrai Tangmarg was taken into custody and investigation was set into motion.” Police said.

“During investigation, it was revealed by the fraudsters that their modus operandi is to pre book gondola tickets and then sell them to gullible tourists at exorbitant rates, he said.

Police requested tourists to be aware of such fraudsters—(KS)
