Gunfight breaks out in Sagam, Anantnag

Anantnag, May 14 (KNO): A gunfight broke out between militants and security forces at Anderwan Sagam hamlet of Kokarnag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag on Sunday morning.

Official sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of Police, army’ and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding terrorists fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.

As per the sources one to two militants are believed to be trapped in the area—(KNO)
