Two shops damaged in Srinagar market fire incident, Firefighter among 2 injured

Srinagar, June 24, KNT: Two shops were gutted in a fire incident at Residency Road Srinagar on Saturday.

The fire broke out in one of the shops at Fairdeal Shopping Complex in which two shops were damaged.

During the process of firefighting, two persons including a firefighter sustained injuries and were shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar.

One of the traders told news agency Kashmir News Trust that two shops ‘Saif & Sons’ and another belonging to one Mushtaq Ahmed who was running Tour & Travel Business were damaged in the fire incident.

A police official said that a case has been registered to know about the cause of the fire.

A civilian identified as Rouf Ahmed and a firefighter Gulzar Ahmed fell unconscious due to excessive smoke emanating from the shops. Both were taken to hospital for the treatment. [KNT]
