SSP Kulgam convenes meeting with media personnel
Kulgam, Jan 16: Senior Superintendent of Police Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal along with DySP Headquarters Kulgam held a detailed interaction with various members associated with print and electronic media here at District police headquarter Kulgam.
SSP Kulgam highlighted the importance and role of media in a democratic setup by describing media as an important pillar of democracy.
While appreciating their role, he called for mutual understanding and cooperation with regard to reformation of society by eradicating social evils /crimes. During the meeting various issues having direct bearing on the society were discussed.
Journalists working with different local and national level media organizations including president Kulgam Working Journalist Association, Abdul Hamid Bhat participated in the interaction.
The participating media personnel assured their full cooperation with the police and also appreciated the efforts of the police in facilitating such interaction meets where participants can express their opinion freely.
