Poor cellular network irks Ganderbal residents

Ganderbal 09 Jan: The subscribers of private telecommunication companies like Jio and Airtel have complained about erratic calling and Internet services in different villages of Ganderbal district.

According to subscribers in Theeru, Watalbagh, Yenihama, Wahidpora, Repora, and other areas of the Ganderbal district said both the call connectivity and internet is poor in these areas. They cannot make any calls even during emergencies. Many a times tower signal disappear suddenly, while making a call. They said the call drops and erratic internet is frequent in the belt due to poor network.

The subscribers of these private telecommunications told that they are facing immense problems due to erratic calling and internet services for last several years in area.

“We are unable to contact our nears and dears as every time we dial the number, the network comes either busy, switched off, number does not exist or shows not network coverage,” said aggrieved residents adding that due to poor network call drops happen frequently.

People of these areas said the problem exists due to lack of adequate mobile towers in these areas and demanded installation of more towers in these areas.

These villages are about 6-8 kms away from main town Ganderbal.
