Srinagar, March 15 (GNS): A policeman allegedly ended his life by shooting himself dead with his service rifle in Hiller area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said on Wednesday.
A police officer told GNS, the selection grade constable of IRP 18 Battallion namely Umer Farooq of Poonch district took the extreme step at Hillar camp this evening.
He was immediately shifted to GMC Anantnag hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The reason behind him taking such a step couldn’t be immediately confirmed and investigation have been launched, the officer added.(GNS)
