7 tourists killed after car falls into deep gorge at Zojila Pass on Srinagar-Leh highway

Srinagar, Dec 5: At least seven tourists have died in a road accident at Zojila Pass on the Srinagar-Leh national highway in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Ganderbal district.

Soon after the accident, the Sonamarg police reached the spot and carried out the rescue operation.

The incident took place when a vehicle carrying eight people (Seven tourists and one driver) fell into a deep gorge on the Srinagar-Leh highway near Zojila Pass after their car skidded off the road as there was snow all around. People tourists died on the spot while 4 others were rushed to a nearby hospital. The deceased belonged to Kerala.

The driver of the car identified as Ajaz Ahmad Awan is critically injured and has been reffered to SKIMS Soura for treatment.–(IndiaTv)
