No dream is too big, and with the right amount of passion and dedication, anything is possible. This has been proven by Ulfat Khan, a girl from a remote village in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. She has become the first-ever girl cadet to be selected as the Parade Commander at the Prime Minister’s Rally (PM Rally) during the Republic Day camp held in New Delhi.

As per details available with The Web Story/The Varmul Post, Ulfat Khan, a 22-year-old girl hailing from a small village on the line of control (LOC) Uri, has successfully overcome numerous obstacles to achieve this remarkable milestone.

Having pursued her schooling in various Kendriya Vidyalayas across Delhi, Jharkhand, and Odisha, Ulfat Khan displayed exceptional talent and leadership skills from a young age. With an impressive array of NCC camps under her belt, including NSC, SNIC, RDC, Mini Sailing, and CATC, she honed her abilities and laid the foundation for her future success.

At the recently held Republic Day Parade, Ulfat Khan not only emerged as the prestigious best commander but also received the DG commendation medal certificate, earning recognition and applause from all quarters. Her performance was nothing short of outstanding, winning the hearts of everyone present as per the official details.

Saima Najar, a social activist, told The Web Story/The Varmul Post that “It is truly remarkable to witness Ulfat Khan’s journey, which exemplifies the power of women, Nari Shakti. It serves as an inspiration not only for aspiring cadets nationwide but also for the courageous women in Kashmir who defy societal expectations and venture outside their homes. Regardless of one’s background, I firmly believe that what truly matters is the unwavering passion and dedication an individual possesses to bring pride to their family and nation.” – Saima added.

Muffra Khuroo, a student, said, “The motivation is high now for females in Kashmir, and with such achievements, the willpower in girls to achieve heights and write success stories is increasing. Gone are the days when in a male-dominated society, females were often discouraged and stopped.

She said, “In today’s era, I don’t think there is any platform where we girls are not leading. Efforts and energy like Ulfat Khan’s are needed to empower more females who still believe we can’t do anything.”

Lone Naira, an entrepreneur, said, “The day is so close when females from every household will write their own success stories. Looking towards such achievements is like medicine for girls to boost their confidence levels in achieving success in every field. Ulfat’s achievement not only makes her family and village proud but also instills hope in countless other girls who aspire to break stereotypes and make a significant impact in their respective fields.”
