Mirwaiz grieved over demise of Surraya Khursheed

Srinagar, Jan 31 (KNO): Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Dr Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq Wednesday expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of Mohtarma Surraya Khursheed, the wife of former president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir late K.H.Khursheed .

In a condolence statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Mirwaiz paid tributes in wonderful words to Surraya Khursheed for her services and achievements in the fields of literature and politics.

Mirwaiz described Mohtarma Surraya Khurshid as a woman of determination and courage and said that the late Khursheed and his family had a very deep and close relationship with Mirwaiz family especially the late Muhajjir-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulana Muhammad Yusuf Shah Sahib and Shaheed-e-Millat Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq Sahab.In the past, when Begum Suraya Khursheed visited Kashmir with her children, she stayed at Mirwaiz Manzil.

He said that the late Surraya Begum, who was also the author of several books, had dedicated her life to a great cause and purpose, and her demise undoubtedly marks the end of a political and historical chapter.

Mirwaiz expressed his heartfelt condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family members, including the deceased’s daughter Yasmeen Khursheed and son Khurram Khursheed and prayed for patience to them. He prayed for Jannat-ul-Firdous to the departed soul—(KNO)
