Pulwama October. 06, : Continuing its unwavering efforts to curb the menace of drugs from the society, Pulwama police arrested one more drug peddler at Naka checkpoint at Tengpona Pulwama.
Police spokesman told in a statement, During naka duty one person was intercepted owing to his suspicious behaviour and apprehended tactfully, upon search, Heroine like substance quantity weighing 5.8gms and Rs 14000/- cash were recovered from his possession.
On preliminary questioning, he disclosed his name as Hilal Ahmad Sheikh S/O Ghulam Qadir Sheikh R/O Tengpona. The said person did not provide any reasonable justification for the recovered material. It seems that he is indulged in illegal trade of heroin and is selling the said contraband to youth of the area on high rates in order to indulge them in drug addiction.
Consequently, case FIR No 199/2024 U/S 8/22 NDPS Act has been registered in police station Pulwama and investigation set into motion.
Pulwama public is requested to be vigilant and share any input of drugs selling with the police for prompt action.
