Cricketer’s Bat Stolen During Local Match in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, July 13, 2025 – A newly purchased cricket bat belonging to Aqib Maqbool Bhat was stolen during a local cricket match held at Yenhuma Ground, near the bridge in Ganderbal, between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Sunday, July 13th.

Aqib stated that he had the bat with him during his team’s batting innings. However, when his team moved to fielding, he left the bat in the team dugout. Upon returning, he discovered that the bat had gone missing.

The stolen bat was brand new and had no sticker, making it easily identifiable.

Speaking about the incident, Aqib said, “It’s really disappointing. The bat was very new and personally valuable to me. I request anyone who may have seen it or picked it up by mistake to kindly return it.”

The incident has raised concerns among local players regarding the safety of personal belongings during matches. There was no CCTV coverage at the ground.
