DC urges youth to embrace Entrepreneurship under Mission YUVA

GANDERBAL, AUGUST 02: In a significant stride toward fostering a skilled, confident, and self-reliant generation, the Department of Employment Ganderbal, in collaboration with the Skill Development Department, organized a One Day Capacity Building Entrepreneurship Mela under Mission YUVA today at Government Polytechnic College Ganderbal.

The event was graced by DDC Chairperson Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq, as the Chief Guest, while Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, attended as the Guest of Honour. Also present were Vice Chairperson DDC Ganderbal, Additional District Development Commissioner, Principal Polytechnic College Ganderbal, and Cluster Head J&K Bank, among others.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of aspiring youth, reflecting the growing interest in entrepreneurship and self-employment avenues in the district.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by the Assistant Director Employment, Beenish Wani, setting a motivational tone for the day’s activities.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson lauded the enthusiasm of local youth and underlined the importance of such capacity-building programs. She termed Mission YUVA a transformative initiative aimed at fostering entrepreneurship, building self-reliance, and generating meaningful employment at the grassroots level.

The DC speaking on the occasion reiterated the District Administration’s commitment to fostering youth entrepreneurship under the Mission YUVA campaign, which is being extensively implemented across the district. He highlighted the government’s focus on empowering youth through easy access to credit, handholding support, and skill development.

The DC said that the primary objective of today’s programme is to make aspiring young entrepreneurs aware of the immense opportunities under Mission YUVA, which is one of the priority initiatives of the government.

He motivated the participating youth to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams, assuring them of full administrative and financial backing from DPR preparation to bank linkage and post-establishment support.

Highlighting the shift in mindset required among the younger generation, the DC stressed, “We must move from being job seekers to job creators. An entrepreneur not only uplifts themselves but also generates employment for many others.”

The DC also encouraged participants to utilize the on-spot registration and enrollment facility at the event for immediate access to benefits under Mission YUVA scheme.

In conclusion, the DC congratulated the District Employment and Counseling Centre for their dedicated coordination efforts in making Mission YUVA a grand success in Ganderbal.

Earlier, the dignitaries inspected the stalls setup by various departments including District Industries Centre, Fisheries, Agriculture, Handicrafts & Handloom, NRLM, J&K bank and others showcased their respective self-employment and entrepreneurship related schemes.

Later, the dignitaries distributed Mission YUVA sanction letters to dozens of youth beneficiaries, empowering them with financial support to establish and develop their own business ventures.
