SRINAGAR JANUARY 29: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo, today chaired a meeting of senior Revenue Officers at the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review the progress of digitization and modernization of revenue records in the district.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz; SDM West, Irfan Bahadur; SDM East, Zubair Ahmad; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar; and all Tehsildars of Srinagar district.

At the outset, the DC conducted a detailed review of the progress achieved in the digitization of revenue records across the district, aimed at enhancing transparency and efficiency in land records management.

Emphasizing the importance of public awareness, the DC directed Revenue Officers to visit revenue villages to sensitize citizens about the contents of digitisation and read out the digitised records in public to note their legitimate grievances, if any and also inform them about the significance of digitization and modernization of land records. He stressed that landowners should be informed about the benefits of digitization, particularly ease of access to land-related information, improved accuracy, and greater accountability.

The DC also underscored the need for maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in the digitization process, calling for efficient and professional execution. He emphasized robust quality checks and close coordination among field functionaries to expedite the process.

Highlighting that digitization of revenue records is pivotal for transparent governance and improved service delivery, the DC urged Revenue Officers to work with added zeal and dedication to ensure timely and quality services to the public.
